So ends the first week of our new life as "jobless" people. To clarify, Faye had her official last day of work with Stand for Children two weeks ago. I have slowed considerably in my professional commitments this last week as well, however there are still a few jobs that need minor attention. This past week we concentrated on our goals for this time in our lives: connect with family & friends, logistically get our lives in order and finish our time well before departure. And let me tell you, it is not easy!
Between figuring out why our car doesn't exist with the DMV in our name, in conjunction with trying to sell the car, to starting to pack up all of our stuff, to connecting with family & friends, to raising support...the list goes on. I have found that when we had a consistent schedule it actually freed us up to ensure important things happen on a daily basis, like setting aside time for ourselves to pray, reflect and connect with one another. With so much to do and no real schedule for it all, we're reminded of the need to be intentional about those things.
We feel like this is good preparation for our lives to come. While in
